Mr. McFeron is a Principal of Peterson Structural Engineers and has been with the company for the last eight years. He has served as a Structural Engineering Consultant to a large number of Owners, Contractors, Architects and other Engineering Firms.
Prior to joining Peterson Structural Engineers he received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, and is registered as Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer in several states. Mr. McFeron has maintained close ties with Portland State University. Beginning in the 2003 academic year he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University and has instructed undergraduate and graduate structural engineering courses.
His experience includes a broad range of structural engineering disciplines involving experience within structural engineering design, structural analysis, project management, and plan review services. He has worked on both small and large scale projects including essential facilities such as municipal water storage reservoirs, fire stations, schools, churches, recreation centers and other high occupancy structures. This includes projects involving new construction as well as those involving alterations and/or upgrades to existing structures.
Recently Mr. McFeron has completed Seismic evaluations of all the core facilities for the Tualatin Hills Recreation and Park district which includes multiple pool and recreation buildings serving high occupancies exceeding several hundred thousand occupants per year. He also worked with the Army Corp of Engineers to design an antenna installation on Bonneville Dam utilizing FRP and plastics for a RFID system, which at the time was believed to be the largest such antenna ever constructed. He has also performed seismic evaluations and upgrade designs for several elevated steel water tanks to upgrade them to meet current requirements for the local seismic conditions.
Mr. McFeron and PSE have worked as a consultant to several cities, including the City of Seattle, to perform plan review services. Mr. McFeron has been involved in the structural review of high-rise hotels, condominiums, a high rise retirement assisted care facility, university buildings, as well as smaller projects such as single family residential structures and renovations to existing commercial, industrial, and residential structures. |
