While the design of private bridges is dictated by building codes, bridges on public property are designed by criteria set forth by AASHTO standards. PSE possesses a thorough knowledge of both sets of code criteria for bridge design. Typical gravity loadings by vehicles, pedestrians, horses, ATVs or other special uses are determined. Site topography is obtained and design is often coordinated with the investigation of subsurface conditions. When designing a waterway crossing, an evaluation of hydraulic conditions is often necessary.
PSE will assist in obtaining the necessary design information and translating it into an economical bridge especially suited to the needs of the owner. |
