Most investigations are presented with a unique set of circumstances. They usually involve property damage and, frequently, personal injury. PSE will often visit the site for an inspection of conditions and an assessment of damage. Relevant documents, such as witness reports, depositions and photographs, are reviewed and evaluated. When necessary and appropriate, the services of a testing laboratory are engaged.

The goal is to determine the probable modes of failure and establish cause. Typically, PSE will review all the available materials and prepare a report of findings and recommendations. Frequently, upon resolution, services are completed with the preparation of design documents for repairs.
