Peterson Structural Engineers, Inc. (PSE) Staff Designer & RAID alumnus Owen Anderson, E.I.T., volunteered for the fifth consecutive year as a mentor for Thomas Jefferson High School’s FRC Robotics Team during the Pacific Northwest FIRST District Championship.
Competing against top-performing teams from Washington and Oregon, RAID ranked 5th overall and qualified for the FIRST Championship in Houston for the first time since 2019. RAID went on to complete its most successful season in team history, ranking 8th in the Galileo Division. Throughout the competition, Owen had a hands-on role in helping build the robot, assisting with robot maintenance, motivating students, and serving as team photographer. He was also honored with a nomination for the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award, which recognizes exceptional mentors nominated by their students.
Thank you, Owen, for continuing to dedicate your Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to a local program committed to promoting youth involvement in STEM activities! PSE is proud to support employees with VTO, encouraging them to give back to the activities and organizations that matter most to them.
