Peterson Structural Engineers, Inc. (PSE) was proud to team with KTUA Landscape Architecture and Planning, the Port of San Diego and the City of National City on the expansion of Pepper Park located along the National City Bayfront.
The revitalized waterfront park received an aquatic makeover and introduced new recreational features, including the first splash pad within a Port of San Diego Park, creating a vibrant recreation destination for the community. PSE’s scope included the structural design for the splash pad mechanical room, perched beach retaining wall, terraced seating steps, architectural seat walls, light pole footings, and performance design criteria for shade structures.
Contributing to infrastructure improvements which expand public access to a beloved location recognized as one of San Diego County’s “hidden gems” was an honor for the PSE team. Make sure to check out Pepper Park for a perfect summertime outing!
