Peterson Structural Engineers, Inc. (PSE) project highlight from our Washington Offices!
The Winslow Water Tank Replacement Project received the 2025 Elevated Tank of the Year Award from the Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA) last month. The STI/SPFA Product Awards recognize projects that exemplify the steel fabrication industry.
Located in Bainbridge Island, WA, the Winslow Water Tank Replacement Project consisted of the demolition of an existing, 1.0 MG welded steel standpipe reservoir and the design of a new, 2.0 MG elevated tank to address the City of Bainbridge Island’s increasing water demand. Teaming with Consor Engineers, the civil engineer, PSE’s role included providing structural support during demolition of the welded steel tank and structural design for the new, elevated tank. Located within a high seismic zone, the structure was designed to meet ASCE 7 Seismic Design Category D requirements, delivering long-term reliability. The award acknowledged the Winslow Water Tank Replacement Project as a striking example of steel infrastructure designed with both functionality and community in mind.
PSE is excited to have been part of the project design team!
